On all polycarbonate multiwall sheets, flutes must be sealed at the top and the bottom to ensure sheets remain clean, clear, and aesthetically pleasing. Polycarbonate U Channel is used to do this. U Channels are available in 12 foot lengths. Using U Channel to cover flutes on the tops and bottoms of polycarbonate multiwall sheets puts a stop to mold, algae, insects, and dust in flutes. The U Channel that is on the bottom of the sheet needs weep holes drilled every 12 inches to allow condensation to drain from flutes. If the condensation is not able to drain, algae or mold can grow in flutes which will cause sheets to become discolored. Solid aluminum tape and breathable vent tape can also be used with the polycarbonate U Channels. To vertically join 2 sheets, H Channel is required which comes in 24 foot lengths. One sheet of polycarbonate will slide into each side of the polycarbonate H Channel. The clear U and H polycarbonate channels are available in 6mm, 8/10mm, and 16mm sizes.
