Silent Guard was developed specifically to reduce the reflection sound in a room, which is the noise one hears reflected back when walking in the room itself. The tapping sound that you hear while walking on your hardwood floor is greatly reduced by the closed cell structure of this cross-linked polyolefin foam. Silent Guard is most effective when used on a smooth subfloor. Silent Guard features overlaying ends creating a 6 ml moisture barrier that prohibits growth of mildew, mold and bacteria. Installation is a breeze with the Silent Guard attached adhesive strips. Simply roll out the Underlayment and adhere the attached adhesive strips.
