Prized for its distinctive variegated appearance, marble is a metamorphic rock of crystallized limestone that consists mainly of calcite or dolomite. Michelangelo and other talented sculptors in ancient Greece and Rome recognized the great beauty of marble. Because of their accomplishments, marble today is an elegant addition to any home.
