How do I return an item to a Menards store?

If you purchased the item in one of our many stores and it is damaged, defective or you have changed your mind, please view our Store Return Policy for more information on how to return your purchase.


If I do not have my receipt, can I still return an item?

You are able to return an item to a Menards store without a receipt. However, you may be able to print a receipt from the kiosk located near the service desk at any Menards store if your original purchase was made with a credit card, debit card or check. What do I do if I have a defective item?

If you have a defective stock item, you may return or exchange it with a receipt. You will need the receipt for a proper refund or exchange, without it full credit may not be given. Please view our Store Return Policy for more details.

Do Menards stores accept coupons?

Menards store will accept various coupons for items that are sold in our stores. However, we will not accept copied coupons or coupons without an expiration date. Please view our Coupon Policy for more details.


How can I purchase tax exempt at a Menards store?

To purchase tax exempt at a Menards store you will need to have a Menards Tax ID. You can apply for a Menards Tax ID by filling out a Menards Tax Exempt Registration Form online or by completing the form at any Menards store on the kiosk located near the service desk.


How can I obtain a copy of my receipt for a Menards purchase?

You can print a copy of your receipt from the kiosk located near the service desk at any Menards store if your original purchased was made with a credit card, debit card or check. You will need to have the credit card or debt card with you or know your checking account information to print a receipt.


What is the Menards Pickup & Go Truck?

You are able to rent the Menards Pickup & Go Truck to bring your items home yourself instead of waiting for them to be delivered (no purchase is necessary to rent the truck). To rent the Pickup & Go Truck you must be 21 years old, hold a current, valid driver's license and have proof of insurance. Your insurance card must show effective dates, company name and policy number. You will also need a valid credit card for payment.

Pickup & Go Truck Rental Rates:
$18. 95 for the first 75 minutes (there is a 75 minute minimum)
$5.00 for each additional 15 minutes (rounding to the next quarter hour)
$3. 50 fuel surcharge (a one time fee each time the truck is rented)

What is the Illinois Caustic Substance Act and how does it affect me?

Due to legislation change effective January 1, 2012, Guests purchasing certain regulated products in the state of Illinois will need to present a valid, government-issued photo ID at checkout and sign a log identifying their name, address, date and time of purchase, brand or product name and net weight of the product. Affected products are those regulated by Title 16 CFR Section 1500.129 of the Federal Caustic Poisons Act and are labeled with "causes severe burns" (with the exception of batteries).
