In the unfortunate event that the items you purchased in-store are not what you expected or are defective, follow these guidelines before making your return:
Any merchandise missing the original Universal Product Code (UPC) is only available for an even exchange on the identical product.
Returned merchandise that was purchased while on rebate must have original rebate receipt. Without rebate receipt, the value of the rebate will be deducted from the return amount.
Sale price adjustments will be allowed during the sale of an item when this item was purchased up to 14 days prior to the sale, an in-store credit will be issued for this balance. However, sale price adjustments are not allowed on end of season discounts, closeout items, or special promotions.
Stock merchandise that is cut or altered will be subject to a 25% restocking fee.
Returns with a Receipt within 90 Days of Purchase:
For purchases made with cash, you will be issued a cash refund. If your purchase was made with a debit card, a refund will be issued to your account. If your purchase was made with a check, a refund will be issued in the form of an in-store credit if the receipt is less than 6 days old. A cash refund will be issued if the receipt is more than 6 days old and you have no outstanding checks with us. If your purchase was made with a credit card, a credit will be issued to the account. If your purchase was made with an in-store credit or gift card, you will receive an in-store credit.
Purchases made with multiple tenders will have the tenders refunded at the discretion of Menards®. Any in-store credits, gift cards or rebates used will be refunded as in-store credit prior to refunds to debit cards or cash.
Returns with a Receipt after 90 Days of Purchase:
If you make a return after 90 days of purchase, you will receive an in-store credit for the original purchase price.
Returns without a Receipt:
For transactions without a receipt, you may be able to print a Return Receipt if the original purchase was made by check or credit card by using the Return Receipt Kiosk that is located by the Guest Service Desk at any Menards® store. You can also print your receipt online from your Menards® account if your purchase was made with a check or credit card. If your items are on order, in-store credit will be issued for the lowest price offered including discounts due to coupons or rebates. We reserve the right to REFUSE a refund without a receipt. Returns of Holiday and Summer Seasonal Merchandise will not be allowed without a receipt. Please note that a driver's license or state I.D. will be required for all no-receipt returns. NO ID = NO RETURN.
Special Order Returns:
Your Menards® store will refund special order items at its sole discretion. Please note that there will be a 25% restocking fee.
Return of Gift Cards:
Gift Cards are non-refundable.
Exceptions Concerning Your Return or Exchange:
Return Policy varies by product type. These exceptions are denoted on the front of the register receipt in the following manner:
(TD) 30 day over the counter exchange products may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of purchase with a receipt. No returns, refunds, exchanges or credits will be issued without a receipt.
(ND) 90 day over the counter exchange products may be returned or exchanged within 90 days of purchase with a receipt. No returns, refunds, exchanges or credits will be issued without a receipt.
(GP) Gas Powered items may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of purchase with a receipt if the item has not been used, in original package and no gas was put into the item. If items do not meet these rules, the Guest must take the item to an authorized service center for repair. If not under warranty, repair is at Guest's expense. Returns, refunds, or exchanges must have a receipt.
(SV) Service items may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of purchase if the item has not been used and is in the original package. The item may be exchanged for a new item within 7 days of purchase if initial failure occurs. After 7 days, the Guest must take the item to an authorized service center. Repairs are at the Guest's expense unless the item is under warranty. Returns, refunds or exchanges must have a receipt.
(HI) Holiday items may be exchanged for the same item or a similar item of equal value. If an exchange is not desired or a similar item is not available, the item will be refunded at the receipt price prior to the holiday. After the holiday, the lowest register clearance price for that item will be given.
(NR) Non-Refundable items, if opened or defective, are only available for an even exchange on the identical item. Delivery and/or installation services are not refundable.
(PG) Plant Guarantee: Menards® guarantees all perennials, trees and shrubs for one year from date of purchase. Simply return the item with your receipt and we will gladly exchange or issue a store credit for your purchase price.
(MA) Major appliances may be returned or exchanged within 7 days of the purchase date if the item has a manufacturing defect, or within 30 days of the purchase date, if the item has not been used and is in original package. If items do not meet these rules, the Guest must contact the vendor for warranty issues/concerns or claims. Returns, refunds, or exchanges must have a receipt.
(CI) Chemical items if opened may be exchanged for the same or similar item of equal value. If an exchange is not desired, the item will be refunded with an in store credit voucher. The guest is to keep the item being exchanged or refunded. Chemical items with non-defective containers that are unopened may be returned in accordance with the regular return policy.

In the unfortunate and unexpected event that the items you purchased online were not what you expected, or are damaged or defective, contact our Online Guest Service Representatives and request a return. A Guest Service Representative will promptly reply with instructions to ensure your return is handled as quickly as possible. You may return an item purchased from MENARDS.COM® within ninety (90) days of receipt of sale. As an added measure of service, the cost of the return shipping will be deducted from your refund amount, unless the return is due to defective merchandise.
Please note, a twenty-five percent (25%) restocking fee will be charged for returns of merchandise ordered online. Returned products must be in unused condition, in the original packaging and contain all accessories, paperwork and parts to ensure your account is correctly credited.
Return Policy on Custom Products:
Orders for these products are custom-made to your specifications, therefore we cannot cancel these orders once they are in production. Nor can we accept returns for these custom products:

If the item you received was not the correct item due to a clerical error on the part of a vendor or if the item arrived in a damaged or defective condition, please contact our Guest Service Representatives for further assistance.
If you receive an item that is damaged, please contact our Online Guest Service Representatives to request an exchange. We will assist you with returning the damaged item and receiving a replacement. The replacement will be shipped to the same place the original order was shipped to.
Gift Cards purchased online at MENARDS.COM® are non-refundable.
Concealed Shipment Information:
Add weather-resistant black concealment wrapping to your order for a small fee. Standard shipping may reveal the retail packaging, making this service ideal for the gift-giving season to both conceal and protect your purchase for the ultimate surprise on the big day! In the event of a return, the black concealment wrapping is a non-refundable service.

You can print a copy of your receipt from the kiosk located near the service desk at any Menards® store if your original purchase was made with a credit card, debit card or check. You will need to have the credit card or debit card with you or know your checking account information to print a receipt. How do I return a gas-powered item?
Our gas-powered products are required by the manufacturer to be sent to a service center for inspection after purchase. This ensures that you get your product fixed correctly and have any technical questions answered. Any issues with the product are covered under warranty and will be repaired at no charge to you. What if I do not pick up my 'Buy Online & Pick Up at Store' order?
Due to limited storage space we can only hold your 'Buy Online & Pick Up at Store' order for up to 14 days. After 14 days the product(s) will be returned to the store's sales floor and your account will be credited back your purchase amount less 10% storage and handling fee. Please also note that stock merchandise that is cut or altered will be subject to a 25% restocking fee.

Can 'Buy Online & Pick Up at Store' orders be cancelled?
Once your order is 'In Process', it cannot be cancelled and must be returned. Please note that a 'Buy Online & Pick Up at Store' order return will be subject to a 10% restocking fee. Please also note that stock merchandise that is cut or altered will be subject to a 25% restocking fee.
